Bosch is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer for Consumer Electronics to join their team in Bengaluru. This on-site, full-time position is tailored for engineering professionals with seven to ten years of relevant experience who want to focus on designing microcontroller boards and associated peripheral circuits.
The chosen candidate will handle requirements engineering, analog and digital circuit design, and board-level power supply design, including Buck, Boost, LDO, Linear, and Flyback configurations. Additional responsibilities involve creating actuator and motor control circuits for BDC, BLDC, and stepper motors, alongside implementing communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and Ethernet. Professionals in this role will utilize CAD tools like Altium, ORCAD, or Mentor Graphics for schematic capture and PCB layout design, while also performing component selection, BOM preparation, thermal calculations, and spice simulations.
This position requires preparing layout guidelines and reviews, writing documentation such as HDD, test plans, and test reports, and conducting board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting. The person in this role will use laboratory equipment including DSOs, signal generators, thermal imagers, and data loggers, while also performing system-level testing and validation of electronic consumer products within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Design microcontroller boards and associated peripheral circuits
- Perform requirement engineering
- Design analog and digital circuits as well as board-level power supplies
- Develop actuator and motor control circuits for BDC, BLDC, and stepper motors
- Execute schematic capture and PCB layout design using CAD packages
- Handle component selection, BOM preparation, thermal calculations, and spice simulations
- Create layout guidelines and conduct design reviews
- Draft hardware design documents, test plans, and test reports
- Perform board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits
- Conduct system-level testing and validation of consumer electronic products
Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of experience
- Experience in designing microcontroller boards and associated peripheral circuits
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Experience in board level power supply design including Buck, Boost, LDO, Linear, and Flyback
- Experience in actuator and motor control circuit design for BDC, BLDC, and stepper
- Knowledge of communication interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and Ethernet
- Experience with CAD packages such as Altium, ORCAD, or Mentor Graphics
- Knowledge of component selection, BOM preparation, thermal calculations, and spice simulations
- Experience in EMI/EMC compliant design
- Experience in preparing layout guidelines and review
