Job Description
Wise is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer II for its Account Mobile group located in London. This on-site position focuses on crafting responsive and cohesive experiences for all users of the Wise Account. The selected candidate will join a community of over 60 mobile engineers, contributing to app homepages, money management features, and broader technical initiatives across the business.
In this role, the engineer will work within a cross-functional team alongside product managers, designers, and analytics professionals to build customer-centric features. Responsibilities include maintaining application health, writing clean and efficient code, and collaborating on native applications and web solutions. This role suits professionals with a strong product mindset who enjoy data-driven decision-making and cross-functional teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Plan, scope, and develop consistent experiences across native applications and the web with a customer-centric focus
- Partner with product, design, analytics, and other internal teams to deliver impactful user experiences
- Take ownership of the overall health and quality of the iOS project
- Work alongside iOS and Android engineers to keep the platform updated with new technologies, best practices, and cross-platform consistency
- Maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code to support application performance, load times, and stability
Requirements
- Proven background in building and launching customer-pleasing apps
- Proficiency in Swift
- Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVC, MVVM, or VIPER
- Commitment to writing testable code
- Understanding of REST API design
- Strong product mindset with a passion for user experience and data-driven problem solving
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and tackle problems independently and proactively
Qualifications
- Experience with SwiftUI, Structured Concurrency, or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with internationalisation patterns for multi-market applications
- Background in fintech
