Huntress is looking for a Senior IT Automation Engineer to join its IT Solutions Engineering team on a 100% remote basis. Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, the organization builds in-house technology backed by a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center to protect millions of endpoints and identities worldwide.
In this role, the engineer will lead cross-functional initiatives, establish the Automation and Agentic AI Center of Excellence, and shape how the company utilizes automation and artificial intelligence to scale securely. The position reports to the Manager of IT Solutions Engineering.
The compensation package offers a base salary between USD 130,000 and 140,000 per year, plus a bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical plans, a 401(k) with a 5% contribution, and paid time off.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional initiatives utilizing automation to enhance operational scale, business execution, and employee experience
- Manage the enterprise automation and integration stack, including Zapier and connected business systems, ensuring security and performance
- Establish and operate the Automation and Agentic AI Center of Excellence, setting standards, governance, documentation, and prioritization practices
- Build reusable frameworks, templates, and design patterns to enable self-service and deliver reliable solutions
- Collaborate with Internal Innovation on AI adoption, feature enablement, and governance
- Design modular integration patterns and automation pipelines with role-based access control and least-privilege principles
- Analyze operational inefficiencies to deliver data-informed recommendations and roadmaps
- Re-engineer operational workflows using AI tools such as Claude and Glean while preserving human judgment and security
Requirements
- Possess 7+ years of professional experience in automation engineering, systems integration, or technical leadership partnering closely with IT teams
- Bring hands-on background with enterprise workflow platforms, API integrations, and Microsoft tools including Azure, Entra, and Intune
- Demonstrate experience with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript scripting and version-controlled delivery practices
- Understand SaaS security, identity and access management, credential protection, and privacy-aware data handling
