Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate capabilities within the Continuous Delivery platform
- Evolve the utilization of the Open Source CD tool Spinnaker and contribute upstream improvements
- Construct reliable guardrails enabling engineers to deploy updates safely with minimal manual effort
- Enhance shared platform foundations alongside other Platform Engineering teams
- Analyze telemetry and feedback to monitor platform performance and alleviate user friction
- Collaborate directly with engineering groups adopting new deployment patterns and platform features
- Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, documentation, and peer engineering development
Requirements
- Experience building and operating production systems using Java
- Background in designing distributed services and APIs with competencies in testing, monitoring, and failure handling
- Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Experience operating with containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Demonstrated track record of automating operational tasks and constructing repeatable tooling
- History of owning shared or mission-critical infrastructure
- Ability to translate complex requirements into maintainable, understandable solutions
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Spinnaker or alternative large-scale CI/CD platforms
- Practical application of SRE principles such as service-level objectives, error budgets, and automated incident prevention
