This full-time remote role at Fanatics is for a senior Java engineer on the team behind the company's Internal Platforms, which serve teams across customer care, promotions, risk and analytics at Fanatics Betting & Gaming. The engineer designs and maintains Java backend services, builds APIs and integrations with Salesforce and other systems, and helps shape distributed architecture.
The work is mainly backend, with optional contributions to internal web tools and some Salesforce development. It suits an engineer with six or more years of professional Java experience and a habit of owning features from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Create and upkeep Java server-side services on Spring Boot or comparable frameworks
- Connect Java services to Salesforce and other systems through APIs, events or middleware
- Join architecture talks about interfaces, data movement and distributed design
- Track down and resolve tricky faults that span services and integration points
Requirements
- Six or more years of professional Java engineering
- Production experience building backend services and APIs
- Familiarity with distributed design and inter-service communication
- Comfortable with version control, peer review and automated build and deploy tooling
Qualifications
- Salesforce integration experience with Apex, LWC, Flows or Salesforce APIs
- Event-driven architecture knowledge, such as Kafka
- Work in AWS cloud or regulated sectors such as gaming, fintech or payments
- Prior work on internal web tools or front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
