Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional background, ideally within fintech, financial services, payments, cryptocurrency, or fast-paced technology sectors
  • Capable of functioning autonomously within a lean team while making choices with incomplete data
  • Able to communicate complex legal topics clearly to non-legal colleagues

Qualifications

  • Prior background working inside both a law firm and an in-house legal department
  • Experience operating in a rapidly changing startup or scaleup setting
  • Familiarity with Canadian securities, bitcoin, crypto, payments, anti-money laundering, or regulated financial goods
  • Knowledge of utilizing lightweight tooling, automation, or artificial intelligence to enhance legal efficiency
