The person in this position will spearhead the creation of an AI analytics layer, utilizing LLMs to enable business teams to query data using plain language. Key duties include automating root-cause analyses, deploying machine learning for metric forecasting and anomaly detection, designing robust experiments, and evaluating AI outputs for accuracy. Responsibilities
- Develop the AI analytics layer for Dineout using LLM-powered self-serve tools on governed data
- Maintain the metric and semantic layer with structured definitions and documented tables
- Automate root-cause investigations for metrics such as GMV, conversion, redemption, and repeat rates using agentic workflows
- Deploy machine learning techniques for forecasting core metrics and replacing manual dashboard observation with anomaly detection
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments while setting rigorous standards for test parameters
- Build evaluation sets and accuracy checks for generated SQL code, insights, and summaries
- Draft strategic narratives regarding restaurant economics, offer efficiency, and diner behavior for leadership
- Manage, mentor, and elevate the output of a team of data scientists and analysts
- Coordinate the analytics roadmap alongside business, engineering, product, and data science leads
Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of professional experience in data science or analytics, including team leadership
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on practice within the last 1 to 2 years building LLM solutions such as RAG, text-to-SQL, prompting, APIs, or agent workflows
- Solid foundation in statistical concepts and experimentation, covering significance testing and causal inference basics
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms for regression, classification, and forecasting
- Experience utilizing modern data stack elements including cloud warehouses, BI software, and semantic layers like dbt
- Ability to work autonomously without a rigid brief, evaluate AI output critically, and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- A degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, engineering, or a closely related quantitative field
- A master's degree is considered a plus
