Fingerprint, a company specializing in device intelligence to help enterprises detect and prevent online fraud, is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Security. Backed by notable investors and recognized as a fast-growing private company, Fingerprint serves prominent clients such as Dropbox, Booking.com, and Plaid. This full-time position reports directly to the VP of Engineering and operates on a fully remote basis.
This role centers on building and owning Fingerprint's application security program from the ground up while providing leadership to an existing team handling IT operations and compliance. The position suits an experienced security practitioner who is comfortable adopting artificial intelligence tooling for security workflows, engaging directly with enterprise customers on security postures, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to embed security-by-default practices.
The compensation for this position ranges from USD 177,000 to USD 240,000 per year, with specific final offers determined by factors including geographic location and individual expertise.
Responsibilities
- Define and build the application security roadmap, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and security review processes for new features.
- Drive early-stage application security work personally by running reviews, triaging findings, and collaborating with engineers on remediation.
- Embed security-by-default practices into engineering workflows such as secure software development lifecycles and CI-integrated scanning.
- Establish an AI-first program utilizing AI-assisted triage, remediation, testing, and security review agents.
- Manage the compliance lead and IT team, providing direction, prioritization, and organizational context.
- Communicate security posture, compliance status, and IT health proactively to the VP of Engineering.
- Represent the company's security and compliance posture to enterprise customers, prospects, and auditors.
Requirements
- Seven or more years of experience in security with substantial hands-on application security expertise.
- Two or more years of people management experience leading practitioners.
- Engineering fluency enabling the reading of code, comprehension of modern web and API architectures, and engagement with engineers on remediation.
- Daily usage of AI agents in personal work with an understanding of AI-driven security tooling.
- Ability to rapidly learn new domains such as IT and compliance and speak to them credibly.
- Experience translating security complexity into business language for leadership and customers.
Qualifications
- Exposure to IT operations such as identity and access management or remote workforce IT.
- Experience with compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
- Familiarity with security tool stacks such as Snyk, Wiz, Cloudflare, and Okta.
- Experience with AI-native security tooling for code analysis, triage, auto-remediation, or autonomous testing.
- Background in answering rigorous due diligence security questionnaires from financial institution information security teams.
