Job Description
Freshworks is seeking a senior manager for employee relations based at its San Mateo headquarters. The job is full-time and on site and sits within the global employee relations leadership team. The manager helps build the department's strategy and leads ER priorities for both the United States and Europe, bringing a cross-cultural perspective to a workplace where trust and performance reinforce each other.
Daily responsibilities include case management for both regions, including complicated matters, and advising people leaders and HR business partners on workplace problems consistently. The manager strengthens capability across the wider People function in conflict resolution, mediation, restorative approaches and decisions that account for bias. They also collaborate with the global group on underperformance, separations and restructuring, and act as the trusted adviser on broader organisational health concerns such as trust, belonging, friction between managers and staff, and conduct that falls short of company values or diversity commitments. Ensuring governance and policy compliance across the US and Europe is part of the job, and so is coordinating with HR partners, talent and rewards teams and in-house counsel to deliver joined-up support. Work in Europe includes liaising with legal colleagues on employee representative bodies, union matters and local consultation rules. Accountability comes from careful case records and measurable results.
The listing asks for a bachelor's degree in HR, business or a related discipline, with a law degree or an advanced HR qualification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP as a desirable extra. It gives both seven and eight years as the experience requirement in different sections, including at least three years in a senior or lead role.
