Job Description

This full-time remote Senior Manager post centers on internal communications at Deepgram, a firm offering real-time speech tools for transcription, voice generation and voice agents. Customers can use the company's voice models through hosted endpoints or deploy them on their own infrastructure. The posting says the platform is used by more than 200,000 developers, plus 1,300 organizations, and mentions a recent Series C funding round.

Deepgram works remote-first and is expanding rapidly across time zones, while beginning to open hub offices. As the workforce grows, this role aims to keep staff updated, linked together and aligned with the mission and goals. The Senior Manager builds the channels, rhythms and habits that make this happen and reports to the Head of Communications.

Typical tasks involve producing precise updates about company happenings and their significance, supporting the CEO and executive group in reaching staff through all-hands sessions, memos and Slack, and designing internal messaging for major events. The position also coordinates with the Chief Strategy Officer in conveying the company's story to employees and with the People group on culture and staff experience.

Measurement matters too: the person should check whether messages reach staff and achieve goals, and should use AI tools for drafting, editing, summarizing and scaling output. The environment moves fast, and the posting cautions that the role may not fit someone seeking a rigid, conventional workday. Strong candidates have five to eight-plus years in communications, largely internal or executive, at a high-growth tech firm, and know how to keep geographically dispersed employees engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, prompt messages on what is going on at the company, its significance and how it links to goals.
  • Build methods that let staff hear directly from leaders and feel connected across sites and time zones.
  • Set up the internal communications framework, including channels, rhythms and practices, so people can locate information easily.
  • Help the CEO and leadership team communicate steadily with employees, including drafting in their voice.
  • Plan internal messaging for significant company events.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Strategy Officer, turning mission, strategy and company story into plain employee-facing messages.
  • Work with the People team on how culture and employee experience are communicated.
  • Assess whether communications land and reach their targets, and rely on AI and similar tools to widen reach.
  • Help with executive messaging, company narrative, staff advocacy and other communications work where useful.

Requirements

  • Substantial internal communications background, ideally having led internal comms at a company growing quickly.
  • Track record of keeping a remote or spread-out workforce aligned with values and with each other.
  • Credibility with senior leaders: drafting in their voice, keeping messaging consistent, speaking candidly and treating sensitive material with discretion.
  • Systems-oriented, designing communication structure and rhythm deliberately rather than stacking new channels.
  • Routinely applies AI to drafting, editing, summarizing and measuring communications.
  • Writes clearly and quickly, from long leadership narratives to short chat announcements.
  • Turns complicated technical and business developments into language that engineers, researchers, sales staff and operators can grasp.
  • Uses data and input to see what works and refine efforts.
  • Adapts comfortably to rapid change and enjoys trying new approaches.

Qualifications

  • Five to eight-plus years in communications, primarily internal or executive, at a high-growth technology business.
  • Background at a fully remote or worldwide distributed company, especially during fast hiring.
  • Handled big company events such as capital raises, product debuts, leadership transitions or restructurings.
  • Created an employee advocacy effort or coached staff to represent the company story publicly.
  • Work at an AI, developer-focused or technical B2B organization.
