Zoox seeks a Senior Manager, Perception Data to direct the organization responsible for transforming fleet data into safer robotaxi driving capabilities. In this position, you will oversee a group focused on data engineering, data science, and data labeling to ensure high-value information reaches machine learning models efficiently. Your leadership will guide automated annotation pipelines, intelligent data mining techniques, log storage strategies, and the continuous learning loop that links real-world driving signals to model evaluation and performance measurement.

Responsibilities
- Manage and guide a team of more than ten professionals across data science, data engineering, and data labeling
- Direct the learning loop connecting fleet signals and model behavior to training, evaluation, and measurement processes
- Scale auto-annotation and auto-labeling pipelines to decrease manual expenses while boosting throughput and label quality
- Create advanced data mining solutions utilizing semantic search, embeddings, and learned representations to surface critical scenarios
- Establish log selection, storage, and retrieval strategies to deliver optimal data to models economically
- Evaluate data value to balance accuracy, quality, speed, scale, and financial costs
- Collaborate across departments with infrastructure, metrics, and machine learning teams
Requirements
- Demonstrated history of building and directing high-performing technical teams in data engineering, data science, machine learning, or labeling
- Experience managing senior individual contributors or other managers
- Technical background in computer vision, video, multimodal artificial intelligence, or perception domains
- Background in scaling data capabilities that impact model training, evaluation, and performance
- Understanding of data discovery, selection, curation, and enrichment at scale
- Commercial and technical judgment regarding build-versus-buy decisions, quality, and velocity
Qualifications
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or embodied artificial intelligence
- Experience with foundation model training, large-scale video, or multimodal datasets
- Familiarity with active learning, semantic search, embeddings, or auto-labeling
- Experience with real-world data acquisition across multiple geographies, partners, or fleets
