Job Description

DoorDash operates as a technology and logistics enterprise that connects consumers with local merchants and delivery services. The organization is expanding quickly and seeks a Senior Payroll Analyst to manage recurring payroll operations while helping modernize the payroll infrastructure for North America. This position operates within the Global Payroll division and collaborates closely with teams such as Accounting, Equity, Human Resources, Legal, Tax, and Compensation.

This role suits professionals who want to move beyond routine transaction processing and engage in process optimization, system improvements, and cross-functional problem solving. Team members function with significant autonomy, identifying workflow gaps and assisting in the evolution of the payroll department into a strategic partner for the business. Reporting directly to the NORAM Payroll Manager, the person selected will contribute to scaling payroll operations efficiently.

Compensation for this full-time position ranges from USD 95,200 to 140,000 per year in base salary, with additional opportunities for equity grants. Comprehensive benefits include medical coverage, retirement plans, paid leave, and wellness provisions. Qualified candidates eager to shape modern, technology-enabled payroll processes are encouraged to review the details and submit an application.

Responsibilities

  • Manage recurring end-to-end US and Canadian payroll cycles independently, which includes conducting audits, reconciliations, variance analyses, and reporting.
  • Oversee payroll projects of moderate to high complexity from initial scoping through delivery by coordinating with internal departments and outside vendors.
  • Act as a primary process owner to investigate underlying causes of recurring problems and design scalable solutions alongside technology teams.
  • Coordinate equity-to-payroll procedures such as restricted stock unit vests, mobility considerations, shadow payroll, and cross-functional reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance standards, internal controls, statutory filings, and year-end reporting requirements including W-2 and T4 forms across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Identify operational gaps, document workflows, and offer informal mentorship and knowledge-sharing support to peers.

Requirements

  • Possess four to six years of progressive, hands-on experience handling complex, multi-state US payroll cycles autonomously.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with modern enterprise payroll and human capital management platforms such as ADP, Workday HCM, or UKG.
  • Exhibit advanced capabilities in spreadsheets, including complex formulas, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP functions, pivot tables, and large dataset reconciliations.
  • Show proven experience collaborating across functions with departments like human resources information systems, stock administration, accounting, tax, benefits, and legal.

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor degree or equivalent professional working experience.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Canadian payroll rules, including compliance requirements for CRA and Revenu Québec.
  • Bring practical experience using ADP EV6 and ADP Workforce Now platforms.
  • Have familiarity supporting large-scale equity events like employee stock purchase plan purchases and mobility payroll.
  • Show experience writing business requirements, participating in user acceptance testing, or assisting with technical product improvements.
  • Possess exposure to analytical query tools or scripting languages such as SQL, Tableau, Looker, or Alteryx.
  • Demonstrate background working in high-growth public companies with Sarbanes-Oxley and internal audit duties.
