Deliveroo is hiring a Senior Payroll Analyst for its Global Payroll team, based in London. The job is full time and on-site. It is a senior operating position covering payroll in several countries, and the holder is accountable for paying staff accurately, punctually and in keeping with each jurisdiction's rules.
The analyst takes full charge of payroll delivery for designated overseas entities, working alongside Tax, Finance, People Operations and HR counterparts and third-party payroll vendors to secure complete and correct inputs. Duties include checking and signing off inputs and outputs before finalization, supervising reconciliations, payments and government filings, and making outside providers answer for their accuracy and timing. The analyst is the top escalation point for intricate payroll questions and helps establish controls, paperwork and governance.
Beyond routine delivery, the role includes improvement projects: streamlining and automating processes, taking part in system rollouts, migrations, integrations and onboarding of new entities, and keeping pace with statutory changes. The post also means coaching payroll analysts and standing in for the Payroll Lead when required.
Responsibilities
- Own complete payroll delivery for assigned overseas entities.
- Coordinate with Tax, Finance, People Operations and HR groups in each country to secure timely, complete inputs.
- Check and approve payroll inputs and results, flagging mismatches and exposure before release.
- Hold outside payroll vendors to account on accuracy, schedule, regulatory adherence and service.
- Serve as the senior point of escalation for intricate payroll questions.
- Run or supervise reconciliations, payment checks and statutory filings.
- Examine payroll data to spot irregularities, control gaps and repeating faults.
- Keep governance, documentation and procedures up to date.
- Streamline, standardize and automate payroll workflows.
- Lead or assist with payroll projects such as platform changes, migrations and new-entity launches.
- Help shape payroll policy and best practice, and share expertise with analysts.
- Track legislative developments and cover for the Payroll Lead.
Requirements
- Substantial experience as a payroll analyst or in a senior payroll post, preferably in a complicated international business.
- Practical multi-country payroll background, including managing outsourced payroll providers.
- Firm grasp of payroll controls, reconciliations, disbursements and statutory reporting.
- Strong analysis skills to dig into payroll data, identify discrepancies and trace causes.
- Excellent spreadsheet ability and comfort working with payroll data and reports.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on correctness and risk control.
- Experience backing or running payroll projects or platform implementations, and improving processes.
- Solid stakeholder management and clear writing and speaking skills.
Qualifications
- Background in Italian and/or French payroll (greatly valued), with working knowledge of their legislation considered an edge.
- Use of Workday, Cloudpay or other HR and payroll software (favored).
