B-Stock seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist to act as the inaugural dedicated procurement professional for the organization. In this remote position, the practitioner will take charge of software renewals, vendor agreements, and indirect service contracts throughout the enterprise. The individual will guide end-to-end commercial negotiations, establish standardized buying workflows, and integrate artificial intelligence into analytical and operational procedures.
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Business Operations, this practitioner will collaborate closely with legal, finance, engineering, accounts payable, and diverse internal departments. The scope includes maintaining a centralized repository for vendor contracts, tracking renewal timelines, and generating measurable financial savings.
B-Stock operates the primary business-to-business re-commerce network globally, bridging merchants and purchasers of overstock, trade-in, and returned merchandise. Led by veterans from eBay and supported by prominent venture capital firms, the enterprise facilitates the resale of massive quantities of inventory annually to champion a circular economy.
Responsibilities
- Manage the renewal schedule for all SaaS and indirect vendors starting ninety days prior to expiration
- Drive commercial discussions regarding pricing, tier adjustments, multi-year commitments, payment terms, and risk caps
- Create and implement a comprehensive procurement playbook containing intake steps, approval matrices, and fallbacks
- Establish business case frameworks evaluating costs, usage metrics, and return on investment prior to new expenditures
- Maintain a centralized tracking system for vendor contracts, spending data, and renewal dates
- Quantify and report financial savings and cost avoidances to company leadership
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or operational finance
- Demonstrated history of securing measurable financial savings on software and service contracts
- Proficiency in modeling total ownership costs, evaluating usage metrics, and constructing business justifications
- Background in establishing operational processes from the ground up, such as approval workflows and playbooks
- Practical background utilizing artificial intelligence applications within analytical workflows
- Work authorization
Qualifications
- Experience operating as the initial procurement hire within a mid-size or growth-stage business
- Familiarity with marketing technology and go-to-market software stacks
- Prior exposure to spend management or procurement platforms such as Zip, Vendr, Tropic, or Coupa
