Job Description
Ebury is hiring a Senior Product Designer focused on its mobile app, based in London on a hybrid model of four days in the office and one day at home each week. Seniority is assessed at Level 3 or Level 4, depending on the autonomy and scope shown in interviews. The aim is native mobile experiences that turn complex financial workflows into simple, phone-first journeys for clients.
The designer owns end-to-end work on key journeys in the Ebury mobile app, from prioritising and concepting through detailed design, prototyping, implementation and launch. The listing asks for designs built for mobile from the start rather than adapted from desktop screens, with a firm handle on Apple and Google platform norms, plus navigation, gestures, accessibility and platform limits. The designer works hand in hand with Operations, Data, Engineering and Product colleagues, and contributes mobile patterns to the design system.
The ideal candidate brings relevant product or UX experience, a portfolio of shipped native iOS or Android work, and strong visual craft on small screens. They should understand mobile interaction design, enjoy working with mobile engineers on practical constraints, and make data-informed trade-offs. Fintech or other regulated, data-heavy product experience is strongly preferred. AI-assisted prototyping tools are part of the team's workflow, though the listing puts more weight on problem-solving than on any single tool.
Responsibilities
- Carry full design responsibility for the most important flows in the Ebury app
- Start every flow from a phone-first perspective instead of shrinking desktop layouts
- Apply the norms of Apple and Google platforms: navigation, gestures, accessibility rules and limits
- Simplify complex financial workflows while balancing security and technical constraints
- Prototype and test interaction models before implementation
- Add mobile patterns and components to the design system
- Support mobile developers during the build so the release looks and behaves as designed
Requirements
- Relevant professional experience in product design or UX
- Portfolio evidence of live native iOS or Android products
- Firm footing in mobile interaction design, moving between screens, touch gestures and interface states
- Practical history of collaborating with app developers on what native builds allow
- Strong visual craft for layout, typography and hierarchy on smaller screens
- Teamwork across design, product and development colleagues
Qualifications
- Fintech background, or work on intricate, data-rich or compliance-bound products (strongly preferred)
- Ease with prototypes or light code rather than only still design files
Core Skills
Benefits
