Job Description
Ebury is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape its onboarding and activation experiences, based in London on a hybrid model of four days in the office and one day at home each week. Seniority is assessed at Level 3 or Level 4 depending on the autonomy and scope shown in interviews. The work covers how businesses sign up, verify their identity and gain access to Ebury's financial services.
The designer is responsible for the whole design arc of onboarding and activation, starting at discovery and finishing at launch. The scope includes customer-facing flows and internal operational workflows. Typical problems include identity verification, KYB and KYC requirements, document collection, review steps and account activation. The designer must weigh user needs against compliance, risk and operational realities, and produce responsive experiences for both web and mobile.
Collaboration is constant. The designer partners with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Data, Engineering and Product colleagues, partners with mobile designers and engineers, and helps extend the design system. AI-assisted tools are used to speed up exploration and prototyping, but the listing says tool proficiency matters less than the ability to frame problems and test assumptions quickly.
The ideal candidate has relevant product or UX design experience, a portfolio showing complex workflows simplified for users, and experience in fintech, financial services or other regulated products. Good interaction design, information architecture and product judgement are expected, along with the organisational skill to handle several projects at once.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for designing onboarding and activation, from research through to release
- Design both customer-facing flows and internal operational workflows
- Make complicated sequences like identity checks, KYB and KYC steps, and document review easier to follow
- Create layouts that adapt cleanly between browser and app
- Work with mobile designers and engineers so onboarding works well in native apps
- Prototype and test quickly, using research and data to improve outcomes
- Contribute to and extend the design system, and help teams build consistent experiences
Requirements
- Relevant professional experience in UX or product design
- A portfolio that shows strong product thinking and craft, including complex workflows
- Experience designing complex digital products, ideally in fintech, financial services or other regulated fields
- Good command of interaction design: structuring information, user flows, interface states and corner cases
- Skill in weighing user experience against commercial, legal and operational demands
- Strong collaboration skills across design, product and engineering
- Capacity to manage several workstreams in a quick-moving setting
Qualifications
- Track record with onboarding, ID checks, KYB/KYC, compliance or risk flows (highly desirable)
- Ease with prototypes, AI helpers, code or data where they help solve a problem
Core Skills
