The company is hiring a Staff Product Designer for the Core Experience team to shape and scale the foundational architecture of its most heavily used mobile surfaces, including Home, Watchlists, and Search. This role focuses on high-visibility product development using an experimentation-first framework, requiring rapid iteration, A/B testing, and close collaboration with engineering and product management teams.
This position is suited for a designer who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses strong visual craft, and can navigate ambiguity while balancing user experience with business goals. Candidates must be comfortable presenting strategic choices directly to executive leadership. The position requires working on-site at least three days per week in either Menlo Park, California, or New York, New York.
Robinhood provides a comprehensive compensation package including base pay zones ranging from $150,000 to $225,000 depending on location, alongside performance-driven bonuses, equity, 401(k) matching, and top-tier health coverage. Responsibilities
- Maintain the visual quality standard across the core application shell used by millions daily
- Run rapid experiments and A/B tests to implement incremental mobile app modifications
- Design the primary user interfaces for Home, Watchlists, and Search across multiple product areas
- Present design strategies and business trade-offs directly to executive leadership
- Collaborate with engineering and product management partners to define and solve problems autonomously
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in consumer mobile application design for highly visible surfaces
- Portfolio showcasing high-level visual craft and execution from in-house or agency settings
- Practical background using experimentation methodologies such as A/B testing and rapid concept generation
- Ability to adapt to shifting requirements while advocating for design choices
- Willingness to work on-site in Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY at least three days per week
