Job Description

Recognized as a leading mental health brand, Calm develops web and mobile applications reaching vast audiences across numerous countries. In this role, the designer will own end-to-end product experiences spanning interaction, visual design, motion, and brand integration across web, iOS, and Android platforms.

This position is ideal for an AI-native designer who thrives on moving rapidly from insight to interactive prototype and shipped experience. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and Marketing, the successful candidate will balance high craft standards with high execution velocity. Candidates must possess significant experience designing mobile and web applications, along with a strong foundation in usability, accessibility, and visual storytelling.

Calm offers a geographic pay model with a base salary range between $168,000 and $245,000, determined by the employee's residential zip code. Additional compensation and offerings for the position include equity, comprehensive benefits, a 401(k) plan, and flexible time off.

  • Handle multiple concurrent projects in a fast-moving operational environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to execute minor code modifications independently to polish copy and user interfaces without engineering intervention.
  • Proven track record of driving user research and usability testing.
  • Solid foundation in interaction design, visual design, and usability best practices.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with conversational or AI-native user experiences.
  • Background working across multiple organizations, including experience in fast-paced consumer startup settings.
