Chainguard is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Athena system, which serves as a clearing house between enterprise users and the company's remediation engine. This remote role involves owning the complete member experience, spanning vulnerability intake, validation, status visibility, remediation routing, and patch delivery across private feeds, consoles, documentation, and advisory channels. The ideal candidate is a technical product leader who can make sense of complex inputs, balance competing priorities, and coordinate multiple engineering and business teams autonomously.
Operating within a fast-moving security environment, this position requires collaborating closely with engineering, documentation, and customer success units. Responsibilities include shaping product strategy, turning field feedback into a prioritized backlog, establishing and monitoring experience metrics, and navigating critical disclosure cycles. Responsibilities
- Manage the complete end-to-end strategy and roadmap for the Athena member experience, encompassing vulnerability intake, validation, remediation, and advisory delivery
- Serve as the primary product spokesperson internally and externally regarding product scope, direction, and capabilities
- Convert ongoing user feedback, inquiries, and systemic workflow gaps into an organized, prioritized backlog
- Coordinate delivery and technical tradeoffs across engineering, remediation, documentation, and customer success teams
- Define and track metrics related to submission volume, patch turnaround time, feed adoption, and status visibility
- Identify and escalate potential business, delivery, and customer risks ahead of disclosure cycles
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of product management experience
- Background owning technical B2B products designed for enterprise clients in regulated industries
- Working knowledge of software supply chain security principles, including CVEs, OSV, VEX, SBOMs, provenance, and vulnerability disclosures
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex cross-functional initiatives without direct authority
- Strong communication skills to build trust with executives, technical teams, and enterprise clients
