Job Description

This Senior Product Manager role at Salla is about growth across the GCC and further afield. More than 100,000 merchants already use the platform, and the next stage takes it into new countries. The listing is clear that this is not a straight copy of the Saudi product. Every market brings its own payment systems, regulatory demands, logistics conditions and merchant expectations, so the product must be adapted with intent.

The product manager owns the expansion work and makes the key calls that determine whether each market entry succeeds. The role involves identifying where the product must change in each new market and deciding what to build, adapt or postpone. The manager then carries the work from diagnosis through to delivered improvements, aiming for merchants in any GCC country to be served as well as those at home.

The listing names three domains. Activation in new markets targets the drop-off between signup and a first order, with payments and identity verification as the main obstacles. Market-specific fit covers payment methods, logistics integrations, compliance workflows and localisation so the product feels local. Expansion infrastructure builds shared product components and a playbook that makes each later market cheaper to enter than the first.

The manager defines and watches measures such as time to first order, activation by market, ninety-day retention and the share of merchants that expand into other countries in the region. Leadership is cross-functional, reaching into the engineering, design, operations and legal functions as well as local market staff, usually without direct authority over them. The listing calls for at least five years in product roles, Arabic fluency and readiness to relocate to Saudi Arabia. No salary is stated.

Responsibilities

  • Own the expansion roadmap across the GCC and beyond, tackling one market at a time
  • Find the stall points for merchants in every market, between registration and first sale, and ship fixes
  • Drive payment and compliance product work for each market, including identity checks and gateway integrations
  • Decide which core product areas need local adaptation and which remain shared infrastructure
  • Define and monitor measures of genuine market progress, such as time to first order and ninety-day retention
  • Build a measurement approach from scratch when no benchmarks exist, and tell genuine activation movement apart from random variation
  • Lead cross-functional work without direct authority, communicating trade-offs and what is paused

Requirements

  • Track record running product for a product line in software, fintech or e-commerce during a regional or country-level launch
  • Solid grasp of why merchants activate, including market-by-market drop-off and which product tweaks lift activation
  • Payments and identity-verification know-how treated as a product challenge, including gateway integrations and document flows
  • Familiarity with Gulf market realities, such as payment methods, logistics, value-added tax, commercial licensing and regional buying habits
  • Record of cutting time-to-value in self-service settings where the product itself guides new users
  • Strong analytical instinct and experience building measurement where no benchmarks exist
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams without authority over them
  • At least five years in product roles, carrying real responsibility in murky or early-stage conditions
  • Arabic fluency

Qualifications

  • Living in the Gulf or having worked regionally is preferred to purely theoretical knowledge
  • Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia
