Job Description

Agility Robotics produces advanced humanoid robots deployed in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers to perform physically demanding and repetitive jobs. The company seeks a Senior Release Manager to oversee the complete release lifecycle for its robot platform. This professional will ensure smooth coordination across firmware, hardware, software, and field operations teams. The individual in this position will handle issue triage for deployments, construct automation to make releases repeatable, and instrument delivery channels so every update remains measurable, observable, and reversible.

This opportunity fits professionals who excel at bridging technical execution and cross-functional guidance. The person chosen will help establish release management as a core capability that lets the enterprise ship frequently and confidently while keeping deployed customer environments stable. Responsibilities span schedule planning, change control, configuration management, system integration validation, field rollout strategies, and telemetry metric tracking. Qualified applicants must possess significant background in release management for complex hardware and software systems. The base salary for this position spans $128,000 to $199,000 per year, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits offering that includes company stock options, a 401(k) plan with a matching contribution, and fully paid insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Define release scope, schedules, and objectives alongside Product, Engineering, and Field Operations teams
  • Manage the release calendar for cloud services, robot software, and firmware encompassing major, minor, patch, and hotfix versions
  • Establish entry and exit criteria, conduct readiness reviews, and lead go or no-go choices based on quality results
  • Run blameless post-release reviews and drive root-cause investigations
  • Enforce standardized release processes including version management, change control, and release branching
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Test groups to build validation strategies for every release
  • Plan staged over-the-air rollouts moving from internal fleets and canary sites to rollout rings and general availability
  • Establish automated rollback hooks, rollback criteria, and contingency plans for production environments
  • Track key release metrics including cycle time, deployment frequency, defect escape rate, and change failure rate

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of release management experience involving complex integrated systems with hardware, firmware, and software
  • Track record of managing releases within robotics, autonomous systems, automotive, aerospace, or related domains
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams through complex product development and deployment cycles
  • Hands-on background building release automation, deployment orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Buildkite
  • Familiarity with version control via Git and issue tracking through Jira or GitHub
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell for automation and data analysis
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Qualifications

  • Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or advanced manufacturing automation
  • Familiarity with ROS 2 and its build and packaging tooling
  • Experience implementing release train models in hardware and software systems
  • Knowledge of automated release note generation and artifact management
  • Experience with artifact signing and secure update chains
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker
  • Experience triaging fleet issues and running root-cause analysis alongside software teams
