Job Description
DigiCert is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the SSL Store team to develop and maintain platforms focused on certificate management, security, TLS, and vulnerability tracking. DigiCert specializes in digital trust, offering an AI-driven platform called DigiCert ONE that unifies PKI, DNS, and certificate lifecycle management to secure software, devices, infrastructure, and communications for over 100,000 organizations globally.
In this role, you will build full-stack features using a TypeScript monorepo containing Fastify, Express, Next.js, and React, alongside MySQL and Redis databases, AWS infrastructure managed via Terraform and Kubernetes, and legacy .NET components that are gradually being retired. You will handle complete end-to-end feature ownership from database schemas and APIs to user interfaces and production deployment, while also contributing to AI-assisted tools and features.
This position suits an adaptable engineer comfortable working across a diverse technical scope, handling production operations, writing tests, reviewing code, and mentoring colleagues. The annualized base salary range is $115,000 to $160,000 USD, supplemented by comprehensive benefits and perks.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and deliver full-stack features including Fastify or Express APIs, Next.js and React interfaces, MySQL schemas, and SQS-driven workers.
- Manage production services through Grafana and Sentry observability, participate in on-call rotations, and conduct incident root-cause analysis.
- Develop and improve monitoring and security products that evaluate customer infrastructure at scale.
- Gradually transition legacy Python and .NET functionality into the TypeScript platform with verified parity.
- Extend infrastructure and CI/CD operations using Azure DevOps, Docker, Helm, and Terraform for AWS services.
- Incorporate and maintain third-party integrations with identity providers, certificate authorities, and security scanners.
- Utilize AI-assisted development utilities and build AI-powered features where appropriate.
- Perform code reviews, draft tests, mentor engineering peers, and document technical decisions.
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of experience developing and running production web services and associated frontends.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, featuring expertise with modern API frameworks such as Fastify or Express, and React frameworks such as Next.js.
- Production background spanning multiple programming languages or technology ecosystems, including a documented stack transition.
- Competency with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres, covering schema design, performance tuning, indexing, and transactional behavior.
- Familiarity with production monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, and debugging.
- Understanding of security fundamentals including authentication flows, input validation, and secrets handling.
Qualifications
- Practical experience with AWS compute, storage, queues, and secrets, along with Terraform proficiency.
- Working knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, Dockerfiles, and Helm charts.
- Background in CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or similar platforms, plus Cloudflare or AWS WAF familiarity.
- Familiarity with advanced Grafana and Sentry observability tool usage.
- Experience relating to PKI, TLS, certificate lifecycle management, uptime monitoring, vulnerability scanning, DNS, or email security.
- Implementation history with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and multi-tenant identity providers.
- Ability to read, maintain, and migrate legacy C# and .NET services.
- Python scripting capability for data pipelines, tooling, or scanners.
- Background in large-scale crawling or scanning systems handling timeouts, rate limits, and worker fleets.
- Experience creating products utilizing LLM APIs, agentic workflows, or MCP servers.
