NetDocuments is hiring a remote Senior Software Engineer to join its AI Growth team. In this position, the professional will build and maintain the backend services and data pipelines that support AI model availability, usage metering, reporting, and billing integrations. The role operates within a newly established team, collaborating closely with Product, AI, Business Intelligence, Finance, and Platform Engineering to define scalable architectural patterns.

Responsibilities
- Design and build production-grade backend services supporting AI usage metering, reporting, billing integrations, and model availability
- Develop data pipelines and event-driven systems to process usage and product data at scale
- Construct cloud-native services utilizing C#, AWS, and modern backend architecture patterns
- Create integrations across AI, product, data, billing, and platform systems
- Contribute to system design and architectural decisions across backend services, data pipelines, and integrations
- Design distributed systems incorporating AWS components such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and S3
- Manage the operational reliability and health of built services, investigating and resolving production issues
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams including AI Tools, Business Intelligence, Finance, Platform Engineering, and Product
- Take full ownership of engineering assignments from initial requirements through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support
Requirements
- Five or more years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade systems
- Strong background in creating distributed backend services using C# or a comparable backend language
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure alongside modern cloud-native backend architecture patterns
- Experience developing or maintaining data pipelines, event-driven systems, or analytics infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience designing and operating reliable production services
- Background collaborating across engineering, product, data, or technical teams to deliver integrated solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience building billing, metering, usage tracking, or rate-limiting systems
- Familiarity with product analytics, instrumentation, or usage-based data systems
- Familiarity with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and S3
- Experience with Snowflake, Kafka, or comparable data and event-streaming technologies
- Experience connecting product usage data with commercial or billing workflows
