Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Security to join its team. This role focuses on developing scalable platforms, infrastructure, and security controls that allow security teams to safely operate and deploy AI-driven agents and applications. The position is ideal for engineers experienced in distributed systems, security concepts, and artificial intelligence integration.

The company operates with an in-person model, requiring staff to work out of the Menlo Park, California or Bellevue, Washington offices at least three days per week. Responsibilities

  • Design and construct a scalable AI platform to support security teams in deploying artificial intelligence agents
  • Create foundational platform APIs, SDKs, and services to integrate AI into security workflows
  • Implement secure systems featuring data protection, encryption, authorization, authentication, and identity controls
  • Operate and build reliable, large-scale distributed systems for AI security use cases
  • Establish platform guardrails and capabilities allowing teams to safely utilize AI agents
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and security units to translate needs into reusable capabilities
  • Automate processes to boost platform reliability, developer experience, and security performance
  • Contribute to the architecture and technical strategy of the AI Security platform

Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years of software development experience
  • Bring 3 or more years of experience constructing large-scale distributed systems with security design concepts such as identity, authentication, authorization, or encryption
  • Demonstrate experience creating AI platforms, infrastructure, or production systems that power AI agents and applications
  • Possess proficiency in Go or Python, backed by production debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • Have familiarity with cloud-native technologies and distributed systems like Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, or gRPC
  • Show a strong grasp of security fundamentals and production system design integration
  • Display experience building reusable developer tools, APIs, libraries, or platform capabilities
  • Exhibit a track record of delivering major engineering projects with long-term impact
