Angkas is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for backend work on a full-time, on-site basis in the Philippines, with the Manila hub as its operations center. The engineer leads complex software design, works on Kafka event-driven systems and Kubernetes deployments, tunes Redis and PostgreSQL, and builds with security and high availability in mind. The role also includes a 24x7 on-call roster and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex software solutions.
- Architect and optimize Kafka-based event-driven systems, and provide technical leadership for Kubernetes deployments and microservices.
- Optimize Redis for performance, scalability and fault tolerance, and tune PostgreSQL schemas, queries and indexes.
- Build and run the software, take part in the 24x7 on-call roster, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional development experience.
- Expertise in Go (Golang) and Kafka, plus proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- In-depth knowledge of Redis and PostgreSQL, and experience with high-scalability, high-availability systems.
