This role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site attendance at least three days per week in either Menlo Park, California, or New York, New York. Successful candidates will drive technically complex initiatives, establish sound architectural choices, and provide mentorship to engineering peers.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve scalable backend systems while balancing performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Design, implement, test, and release product features meeting strict correctness and availability standards
- Partner with frontend and data engineers to establish and refine REST APIs for millions of users
- Lead technically complex projects through every phase from design to execution
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance
- Identify methods to enhance system performance, developer productivity, and operational risk management
Requirements
- Possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of experience constructing low-latency, large-scale distributed systems in production environments
