Mozilla Corporation seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its Cloud Engineering team to maintain, scale, and develop features for the Internal Developer Infrastructure Platform. In this remote role, the engineer will build standardized systems for continuous integration and delivery, observability, Kubernetes efficiency, cost reduction, and environment initialization. Responsibilities include driving technical strategy, designing agentic workflows, writing decision briefs, and resolving ambiguous technical tasks. The ideal candidate possesses technical leadership experience within platform engineering, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and build features for the Internal Developer Infrastructure Platform
- Establish standardized and scalable systems for CI/CD, Observability, Kubernetes, and environment setup
- Support infrastructure utilized by internal development teams
- Drive technical decisions and foster the adoption of user-centric designs
- Design agentic workflows and create Claude skills to boost developer productivity
- Mentor team members and advocate for software engineering best practices
- Draft technical proposals and decision briefs for new platform processes and policies
- Handle urgent and ambiguous technical challenges
Requirements
- Minimum five years of software engineering experience
- Expertise in platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or DevOps
- Demonstrated technical leadership background
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as ArgoCD, Grafana, Kubernetes, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, and cloud cost optimization
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Go
- Experience with cloud-native technologies, with a preference for GCP alongside AWS familiarity
- Strong communication abilities
