Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its International team to help scale financial platforms for millions of global customers. This position suits an experienced developer who can bridge user-facing frontend systems with resilient backend architectures to launch localized features like onboarding funnels, identity verification, and regional trading capabilities.
As a key technical contributor, the professional in this role will design modular internationalization platforms, establish high reliability standards, and collaborate closely with product management, design, compliance, legal, and platform engineering groups. The position requires working from company offices located in New York City, Toronto, or Menlo Park, California, with an in-person attendance requirement of at least three days each week. Compensation includes a base salary range of USD 196,000 to 230,000 per year, alongside eligibility for performance bonuses, equity incentives, and comprehensive employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain frontend user interfaces using React and TypeScript while scaling backend services in Go or Python
- Own technical delivery for international capabilities such as localized onboarding, KYC and AML checks, multi-currency funding, and regional trading
- Build and optimize promotion engines and user acquisition pipelines to increase global market adoption
- Architect modular internationalization frameworks that allow rapid and secure expansion into new geographic jurisdictions
- Implement comprehensive telemetry, automated testing, and participate in production on-call rotations to guarantee system availability and low latency
- Partner with product, design, compliance, legal, and platform teams to create user-centric technical solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional software engineering experience designing and operating production systems across the full stack
- Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks like React and TypeScript focusing on performance and state management
- Strong backend background building distributed services in Go or Python
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures including Kafka
- Demonstrated ability to take complex features from technical design through rollout, validation, and maintenance
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC, and microservice integration patterns
