Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Mobile QA to join the App Infra team within the Consumer and Business group. Coinbase operates as a remote-first organization, though staff gather periodically for in-person working sessions known as surges. The position involves working on a native rewrite of the retail mobile application using Swift and Kotlin to replace an existing React Native codebase.
This role suits an experienced software engineer who wants to design test infrastructure, implement automated regression frameworks, and integrate quality verification into an AI-assisted code generation workflow. The person hired will establish quality dashboards, track performance metrics such as cold start times and dropped frames, and collaborate with mobile engineers to resolve coverage gaps and flaky tests.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated regression test suites for native Android and iOS builds
- Integrate test infrastructure into the AI-assisted code generation cycle to enforce verification at commit time

- Develop the QA strategy for the greenfield mobile rollout and handle last-minute product changes

Requirements
- Minimum of five years of software engineering experience focusing on mobile test automation
- Hands-on background utilizing native testing tools such as Espresso, XCTest, or equivalent frameworks
- Demonstrated history of building automated regression infrastructure within CI/CD pipelines like CircleCI or Buildkite
- Working knowledge of Swift and Kotlin to read, write, and debug test code
- Practical experience applying generative AI responsibly while keeping human oversight
