Job Description
Robinhood is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer for its Web3 Backend work. The role is hybrid, with office time at least three days a week at Menlo Park, California or New York, New York. The engineer would plan, build and grow the server-side services, infrastructure and data systems behind the company's crypto, web3 and wallet products.
The job carries technical leadership. The products involved cover trading of digital currencies and tokenized assets such as perpetual futures, offered to customers worldwide. The work spans the Wallet group, which develops self-custody products and cross-chain trading; the Tokenization group, which is working toward round-the-clock trading of public and private equity on decentralized exchanges; and the Robinhood Chain group, which builds the base decentralized infrastructure.
Day-to-day duties involve building distributed systems where accuracy, fault recovery and traceability are non-negotiable. The engineer would connect traditional brokerage and ledger systems with on-chain components like smart contract integrations, indexers and exchange trade flows. Leading long, loosely defined projects, working with product, compliance and security partners, and raising reliability standards through mentoring are also expected.
Strong candidates bring five or more years of distributed systems experience and deep backend skills in Go, Python or Java. Hands-on work with financial systems where idempotency and reconciliation matter is valued, as is interest in blockchain fundamentals.
