Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site role on the backend of Enterprise Workload, a server backup and archive product running on Druva's cloud platform. Customers can keep data for long stretches with unlimited snapshots and adjustable retention rules, which the posting says can meaningfully reduce backup spend. The engineer builds the server-side components behind the product and keeps them fast and responsive for the frontend.
In this senior staff role, the person is in charge of the software modules a team owns, from design through upkeep. Duties include designing large features, taking part in every stage from gathering requirements to delivery, and working across teams. The role also mentors junior engineers through code and design reviews that keep their work clean and well structured.
The posting stresses an AI-first mindset, using generative AI tools while holding firm on correctness, security, performance, long-term upkeep and code craftsmanship. Candidates should have six or more years of experience, ideally in a product company that has built global-scale distributed SaaS applications handling petabytes of data. Strong hands-on skill in Go, Python, C, C++ or Java, running on Unix, Linux or Windows, is required, along with database design and tuning.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, cloud technology (AWS preferred) and third-party API integration at scale is valued. The posting lists VMware vSphere or ESXi experience, and additional hypervisor exposure, for example on AHV or Hyper-V, is a plus. Clear communication, familiarity with Agile methods such as Scrum, and knowledge of security or data protection are also welcome.
