The person in this role will primarily direct the technical strategy for DevX, overseeing build and developer infrastructure while integrating agentic systems and AI deeply into the software development lifecycle. The Developer Infrastructure org functions as the backbone of engineering operations, making developers faster, more reliable, and productive. Key areas of ownership include Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure, remote build execution clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and test environments that simulate the full system. The position is based on-site in New York City or Menlo Park, California, requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical leader and unify DevX, TestX, Backend Platform, and Mobile Platform under a shared vision
- Lead and evolve the Bazel-based monorepo build infrastructure and remote build execution cluster
- Scale CI/CD pipelines to support thousands of daily builds, managing GitHub configurations and pre-merge checks
- Drive the vision for TestX integration test environments and personal development systems
- Integrate AI and agentic systems across the software development lifecycle to boost developer velocity and code quality
- Establish technical standards for core language runtimes, libraries, IDE tooling, and security across multiple programming languages
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners to shape the long-term developer infrastructure roadmap
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience with a track record at the Senior Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer level
- Deep expertise with Bazel and large-scale monorepo build systems, including remote build execution infrastructure
- Extensive experience operating CI/CD pipelines at massive scale across multiple languages and complex pre-merge logic
- Fluency in Go and/or Python
- Strong background in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Familiarity with test infrastructure, integration test environments, or developer environment platforms
- Experience or strong interest in agentic AI systems, automated code review, or AI-driven developer velocity programs
- Exceptional technical leadership, communication, and organizational influence skills
