Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Test on an Agile development team. The engineer studies how each feature is designed, then builds and extends automation frameworks that protect the reliability of Druva's cloud-based backup products. The work is collaborative and requires close contact with developers.

Testing covers both white-box and black-box approaches, and the engineer takes ownership of each feature's quality from concept through deployment. Responsibilities include writing feature test plans that track development milestones, automating those tests, and running the complete test cycle for each user story. The mix includes automated and manual work, and the role creates, documents and maintains test beds and environments.

The engineer logs and tracks issues and test cases in management tools and coordinates with other functions so that quality benchmarks are met across the development lifecycle. The posting values analytical thinking, troubleshooting and debugging, and comfort with agile testing practices and quality metrics.

Technical expectations include working knowledge of Windows and Linux, concurrency concepts such as threads, multiprocessing and socket programming, and networking and cloud architecture. Candidates should be fluent in Python or Go, comfortable with SQL databases and RESTful API testing, and skilled with Git or SVN. VMware virtualization and NoSQL stores such as MongoDB or Cassandra would be an asset. Six to nine years of experience is listed.
