As a key leader in technical execution, the person in this role bridges top-down corporate planning with tactical roadmaps. Responsibilities include charting schedules, pinpointing milestones, estimating financial needs, monitoring metrics, and communicating updates directly to executives. The role involves working alongside software, hardware, and vehicle engineering teams to deliver intricate autonomous driving programs. Candidates will also contribute to scaling internal program management tools and mentoring peers within the department.
Responsibilities
- Manage large-scale artificial intelligence and machine learning programs across multiple engineering groups and director stakeholders from inception to completion
- Convert high-level company strategy into organized execution plans while settling competing priorities between departments
- Establish and monitor metrics to identify systemic risks early and implement organizational process improvements
- Deliver status updates, trade-off evaluations, and strategic advice to senior leadership
- Design and expand internal program management methodologies, operational tools, and workflows for the department
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other technical program managers
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, engineering, a technical discipline, or possess equivalent practical experience
- Bring 10 to 12 or more years of background in engineering program management
- Demonstrate prior accountability for initiatives involving multiple organizational units or senior leadership stakeholders
- Possess deep technical familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomous driving systems, computer vision, reinforcement learning, simulation, or automotive and aerospace procedures
- Show a proven history of navigating complex risks and building consensus among executive stakeholders
- Display experience in creating or expanding program management frameworks and strategies for larger teams
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills tailored for both technical engineering staff and executive leadership
Qualifications
- Prior background working in robotics or the autonomous vehicle sector
- Familiarity with incorporating artificial intelligence tools and agents into program management processes
- Proficiency with JIRA or comparable tracking software
