The Program Management Office at Zoox is seeking a Senior or Staff Technical Program Manager to oversee live service operations and drive complex milestones from launch to the future. This hybrid role is designed for professionals who can bridge top-down corporate goals with detailed technical execution across multiple departments, including software engineering, hardware, manufacturing, and business functions.
In this capacity, the program manager will steer high-stakes choices, align cross-functional workstreams, and build detailed technical roadmaps for both the Toyota Highlander test fleet and the custom robotaxi platform. Ideal candidates thrive in ambiguous environments, possess a robust technical grasp of vehicle platforms and safety clearance procedures, and have a proven record of leading complicated hardware and software integration efforts.

Responsibilities
- Translate corporate strategy into detailed technical roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables by partnering with department managers.
- Influence cross-functional decisions across engineering, manufacturing, product, operations, and strategy.
- Create standard reports to communicate program status, accomplishments, issues, and risks to key stakeholders.
- Establish performance KPIs to measure progress toward corporate goals.
- Align program goals with business objectives and sustain team momentum for on-time delivery.
- Maintain technical understanding of vehicle platforms, software lifecycles, safety clearance processes, and live robotaxi service operations.
- Build trust with technical managers to steer high-stakes decisions and negotiate trade-offs across competing priorities.
Requirements
- 7 or more years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting focused on product launches.
- Proven success in driving complex software and hardware integration processes and optimizations end to end.
- Comfort leading through ambiguity and enabling teams to perform in unstructured settings.
- Proficiency in project management tools and processes such as Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, and Jira.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including the ability to visualize KPIs and program risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Professional certification or equivalent.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, test platforms, simulation, and automotive or aerospace processes.
- Experience developing and scaling strategy and processes.
- Strong foundational background in systems engineering.
- Prior experience in autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or airline industries.
