Job Description

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join its Performance and Infrastructure organization on a remote basis. Operating a major global network that accelerates and secures millions of websites and online properties, Cloudflare aims to build a better Internet through scalable technology, reliability initiatives, and dedicated programs like Project Galileo and the Athenian Project.

This role serves as a key bridge connecting engineering, product, finance, capacity planning, and reliability teams. The position suits a structured yet flexible professional who thrives amid ambiguity, values curiosity, and can leverage modern tools and automation to drive foundational infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities span portfolio leadership, infrastructure efficiency, and engineering reliability, requiring coordination across global time zones and execution of complex technical roadmaps.

Candidates will manage multi-quarter programs, align leadership on key metrics, track resource usage, and lead chaos engineering initiatives. Applicants should bring strong technical acumen in distributed systems or infrastructure, alongside solid experience in stakeholder management and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution for strategic infrastructure initiatives focusing on engineering reliability and efficiency
  • Partner with engineering and product leaders to set goals, metrics, and decision frameworks
  • Maintain roadmaps, dependency maps, program plans, and executive status reports
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams across engineering, infrastructure, capacity, finance, security, and operations
  • Identify tradeoffs early, manage escalations, and document decisions
  • Represent internal technical users and incorporate their workflows into program planning
  • Establish fleet-wide reporting for resource usage including CPU, storage I/O, memory, bandwidth, and RPS
  • Build automations and AI agents to handle routine program administration tasks
  • Manage end-to-end chaos engineering from test planning and execution to publishing results
  • Coordinate readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and production resilience tests

Requirements

  • Five or more years of technical program management experience
  • Background in infrastructure, data platforms, reliability, performance, distributed systems, or large-scale engineering environments
  • Technical fluency with infrastructure systems, telemetry and observability, capacity planning, traffic management, and reliability practices like SLOs and SLIs
  • Experience partnering with product and engineering to clarify vision, prioritize requirements, and measure success
  • Ability to build realistic project plans and manage cross-functional dependencies
  • Strong communication skills tailored for audiences ranging from engineers to executives
  • Experience working across multiple time zones
  • Proficiency with Confluence, Jira, project planning tools, and dashboards
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools and development platforms for routine task automation with human-in-the-loop review
  • Familiarity with development and delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kaizen, or hybrid approaches

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI productivity tools for program administration
