Job Description
Freshworks is adding a Senior Value Engineer to its Value Engineering team in London. The engineer builds financially grounded business cases for mid-sized to large deals, mostly across ITSM, ITAM, ITOM and the Freddy AI lineup. The role advises prospects and internal colleagues, converting product capability into dollar outcomes that justify the purchase. It is a hybrid job with office attendance on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus occasional travel for on-site workshops and presentations.
Day to day, the engineer runs value discovery meetings to quantify a buyer's goals and frictions, then builds cost-benefit, ROI and competitive differentiation models that withstand scrutiny from finance and technical reviewers. They present value narratives to audiences ranging from practitioners to C-suite leaders, refine the team's methodology and discovery frameworks as the market evolves, and coordinate with sales, product, marketing and customer success colleagues to tailor value messaging by segment and sector.
Candidates should bring five or more years in value engineering, advisory work, financial analysis or equity research in a neighboring field tied to SaaS or technology. Solid discovery skills, confidence building multi-scenario models for a customer's objectives, experience with ROI or TCO work, and the ability to hold up under a skeptical CFO's questions are important. A record of rigorous, on-deadline delivery is expected. No salary is stated.

- Build cost-benefit, ROI and competitive differentiation models for finance and technical audiences
- Create and deliver value presentations for audiences spanning practitioners up to C-suite leaders

- Coordinate with sales, product, marketing and customer-success colleagues on value propositions by segment and industry
- Fly out now and then for in-person customer workshops and talks
Requirements
- Five-plus years in value engineering, advisory work, or financial analysis, plus equity research experience in a neighboring area within SaaS or tech
- Good instincts for discovery: pulling scattered data together and pinpointing the core business driver
- Ability to design original value propositions and model several scenarios against a customer's goals
- Background in ROI and TCO modeling, discovery methods or competitive value models
- Exceptional communication skills, including defending assumptions to finance leaders
- Capacity to earn trust among sales, product and customer-facing staff
- A record of rigorous project delivery, tight deadlines and iterating on feedback
