Zoox is seeking a Shift Lead for Fusion Center Analysts to oversee the operational uptime of its robotaxi and test fleet. In this hands-on, player-coach role, you will work directly alongside your team from Monday through Friday between 10 am and 6 pm, setting an example for safety, quality, and productivity standards. Your primary duties involve performing live troubleshooting for software and hardware concerns, documenting details in Jira, and communicating findings back to Fleet Support Engineering.

This position is well-suited for a disciplined team player with a background in technical troubleshooting who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can remain calm under pressure. You will act as the primary contact for service escalations, analyze telemetry data, and direct preliminary diagnostic procedures. Furthermore, you will coordinate with multiple internal departments including TeleGuidance, Product, PMO, and User Experience.

As a leader, you will maintain a collaborative and inclusive culture, deliver regular performance feedback to direct reports, and guide contractors assigned to Zoox. You must also be prepared to support an on-call rotation with potential day, swing, and mid-shift assignments. Responsibilities

  • Manage and actively participate in maintaining operational uptime for the robotaxi and test fleet during scheduled shifts from Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm.
  • Conduct live troubleshooting of hardware and software problems, analyze telemetry data, and execute preliminary diagnostic procedures.
  • Record detailed troubleshooting steps and findings in Jira to aid future training and system improvements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for service escalations and coordinate timely intervention by higher-level engineering teams.
  • Lead a team of Fusion Center Analysts to ensure service level agreements and company standards are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Support Engineering, TeleGuidance, PMO, User Experience, and Product teams.
  • Guide contractors assigned to Zoox by answering questions and clarifying job assignments.
  • Deliver written and oral performance feedback to direct reports at regular intervals.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to examine historical data, spot recurring trends, and implement preventive measures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation with potential requirements for day, swing, and mid-shift coverage.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience working in a collaborative environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing technical troubleshooting, preferably within the transportation or automotive sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and operate independently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills under pressure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities to convey technical details to varied audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or operations

  • Background in remote vehicle troubleshooting support and vehicle hardware
  • Experience utilizing Linux and Python-based programming systems for fleet-level data processing
  • Familiarity with software that interfaces with hardware
