The Shift Supervisor for Fire Assay at SGS supervises the fire assay floor, covering weighing, fluxing, fusion, cupellation and prill digestion against the relevant competence modules. Responsibilities
- Supervise the fire assay floor against the relevant competence modules
- Run shift handovers and monitor daily production and turnaround times
- Coordinate the production team and monitor staff attendance

Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant discipline or analytical laboratory
- Supervisory experience
- Full understanding of the LIMS system
- Able to work independently and coordinate several activities at once
Qualifications
- National Diploma or degree in analytical chemistry, or Grade 12 with mathematics and science
- Knowledge of a laboratory quality management system
