Job Description

Canonical is hiring a Silicon Alliances Ecosystem Development Manager for remote work in the Americas. Candidates in EMEA may be considered if they can keep hours that suit silicon partners in the Americas. The post is full-time. The Silicon Alliances group works with leading semiconductor companies to fuse open source adoption with chip-level optimisation, so Ubuntu performs well on each new processor, from the cloud to the edge.

The manager speaks for Canonical and its software to silicon partners, follows their strategies, technology and roadmaps, and pinpoints where they overlap with Canonical's products. The job spans engineering, product, marketing and sales, and involves leading joint offerings and complicated programmes, keeping project plans organised and on schedule, shaping joint go-to-market approaches and campaigns, handling messaging, collateral and launch timing, and negotiating agreements. Travel for team sprints, conferences and partner meetings is expected as part of the position.

  • Fundamental understanding of the semiconductor sector and its ecosystem
  • Client-facing background covering business development and technology strategy, or related work
  • Excellent communication, with the ability to grasp complicated material and pull out key points
  • Strategic and tactical thinking
  • Self-driven and disciplined in a remote-first environment

Qualifications

  • Experience in software or system architecture
  • Know-how in open source products and the commercial models behind them
  • Team leadership or programme management experience
  • Readiness to attend team sprints and in-person partner meetings
