Job Description
Canonical is recruiting a Silicon Alliances Ecosystem Development Manager to cover APAC silicon partnerships. The post is hybrid: part of the week is spent at the Taipei office and part working from home, with travel to team sprints, conferences and partner meetings when needed. The Silicon Alliances group partners with major chipmakers to couple open source uptake with silicon-specific tuning, so Ubuntu runs well on each new generation of hardware, from the cloud to the edge.
The manager represents Canonical and its software to chip partners, tracks their strategies, technologies and roadmaps, and identifies where those match Canonical's current and future offerings. Work spans engineering, product, marketing and sales colleagues: the manager leads joint products and complex programmes, keeps project plans sound and tracked, builds joint go-to-market strategies and campaigns, manages messaging, collateral and launch schedules, and negotiates agreements. Positions cover everything from early-career to senior roles, from small exploratory tie-ups to the largest strategic partnerships.
Applicants should care about both hardware and software and want to move into business development. A fundamental understanding of the semiconductor sector is essential; a background in software or systems design is a plus. The benefits section also mentions a fully remote working setup, a USD 2,000 annual learning budget, and possible yearly bonuses and sales incentives linked to revenue or utilisation, depending on the role.
