SGS is offering a contract Site Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Intern in Durban. The intern keeps the site informed on HSE matters, runs monthly and quarterly inspections, prepares training schedules and toolbox talks, and tracks HSE and quality objectives. The role also covers hazard logging, risk assessments and emergency drills. It suits a candidate with a safety or quality qualification, completed or in progress.
Responsibilities
- Keep the site supervisor and personnel informed on HSE matters, and run monthly and quarterly HSE inspections
- Prepare the site training schedule and run HSE, quality and toolbox-talk sessions
- Submit monthly KPI reports and track HSE tiers and quality objectives for the site
- Log hazards and behavior-based safety observations, and facilitate risk assessments and emergency drills
Requirements
- A safety-related qualification and a quality-related qualification, completed or in progress
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good administration, organizing and communication skills
- Practical ability to carry out risk assessments
Qualifications
- SAMTRAC certification, which is preferred
- Any HSE short course certificates
