The company is seeking a SOC Manager to oversee the operational delivery and continuous enhancement of its Security Operations Center services. In this position, the successful candidate will direct daily security monitoring, coordinate complex incident responses, and guide the performance of operational security teams. The role requires partnering closely with security engineering, cloud infrastructure groups, and external clients to refine threat detection capabilities and drive security automation.
This opportunity is well-suited for a cybersecurity professional with background in managing operational security teams and handling high-pressure incident escalations. The person filling this role will be responsible for tracking service-level agreements, mentoring staff members, refining detection strategies, and participating in managed security service design. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, fluent English proficiency, and experience leveraging AI tools responsibly for productivity and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily security monitoring, alert triage, investigations, and incident escalation workflows.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical security incidents to guide containment and remediation.
- Track service performance through KPIs, SLAs, incident trends, and routine operational reviews with clients.
- Enhance alert prioritisation, detection quality, and security automation leveraging SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR tools.
- Mentor and develop SOC analysts and security engineers while supporting recruitment and team onboarding.
- Advance security services by refining tooling, operating models, and contributing to new customer transitions.
Requirements
- Professional background in cybersecurity and security operations with hands-on SOC experience.
- Experience leading or coordinating operational security teams and managing incident escalations.
- Knowledge of security monitoring, SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, incident response, and detection engineering.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence, threat hunting, and cloud, identity, endpoint, and network security.
- Experience managing service reporting, operational KPIs, and SLAs within managed security services.
- Familiarity with standards and frameworks including MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Regular, responsible use of AI tools to support productivity, validation, and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Experience building, scaling, or operating a 24/7 SOC or Managed Security Service.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, or Palo Alto XSOAR/XSIAM platforms.
- Background in detection engineering, SOAR automation, and Python or PowerShell scripting.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud environments.
- Familiarity with supporting RFPs, service transitions, and client onboarding.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or relevant Microsoft security credentials.
- German language skills.
