Swiggy seeks a Software Dev Engineer III to join its production engineering group in Bengaluru. This on-site role focuses on maintaining the reliability, observability, elasticity, and governance of the cloud infrastructure supporting the platform.
The successful candidate will take charge of end-to-end system design, partner with business divisions to translate specifications into low and high-level architectural plans, and create scalable systems capable of handling rapid company growth. The position requires guiding technical initiatives, establishing operational best practices, and developing tools that enable engineering teams to manage their own services and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Design and operate cloud infrastructure and supporting platforms for the organization
- Partner with product and business units to translate specifications into high-level and low-level system designs
- Create and implement best practices to improve team technical capabilities and operational excellence
- Build highly available, scalable, elastic, and observable distributed platforms
- Experiment with new tools and technologies to drive adoption and measure operational impact
- Develop tools allowing engineering teams to self-manage their services and infrastructure
- Lead long-term technical vision, architecture redesigns, and cross-cutting strategic initiatives
- Document decision-making processes and lead clear team discussions and presentations
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of professional background in production engineering or infrastructure
- Hands-on practice with AWS and Kubernetes or comparable cloud platforms
- Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD, everything-as-a-code, and proactive monitoring
- Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, virtualization, and containerization
- Experience building and running distributed systems
- Coding proficiency in Python or GoLang
- Familiarity with software engineering standards such as design documentation, code reviews, and unit testing

- 5 to 8 plus years of professional experience in infrastructure or production engineering
