Robinhood is recruiting a Software Engineer for its AI Security team. Work happens at the Menlo Park, California and Bellevue, Washington offices, with on-site presence required at least three days each week. The team is creating a scalable, secure AI platform that lets security teams across Robinhood develop and run AI-driven agents and security tools.
The engineer helps assemble the core platform, infrastructure and security building blocks that make AI-powered security easier to deliver at scale. Focus areas include identity work, login and access controls, encryption, and keeping the platform safe, with security designed in from day one. The work spans services for the platform, APIs, shared libraries and developer kits, plus guardrails so teams can run AI agents safely.
The role works with security, infrastructure and engineering groups to turn their needs into reusable platform capabilities. The engineer finds ways to make the platform faster, easier for developers, more dependable and safer through automation, and helps set its direction as it grows.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of software development experience, including two or more years building large-scale distributed systems where identity checks, access control or encryption were central to the design. Experience with AI platforms or production AI applications, along with proficiency in Go or Python, is expected. The base pay range by zone is $166,000 to $195,000 in Zone 1 (Menlo Park, New York, Bellevue, Washington DC), $147,000 to $172,000 in Zone 2 (Denver, Westlake, Chicago), and $130,000 to $152,000 in Zone 3 (Lake Mary, Clearwater, Gainesville, FL). Bonus, equity and benefits are also available.
Responsibilities
- Create a platform that is both scalable and secure, letting security teams develop, ship and run AI-driven agents and capabilities
- Create platform services, APIs, shared libraries and SDKs that let teams use AI inside security workflows
- Architect secure services that handle identity, login rights, encryption and data safeguards
- Run dependable systems at large scale that power AI-driven security use cases
- Develop platform guardrails that help teams build and run AI agents safely
- Turn requirements from security, infrastructure and engineering teams into reusable capabilities
- Look for automation opportunities that make the platform faster to use, more reliable and more secure
Requirements
- Three or more years of software development work
- At least 2 years building large-scale distributed systems where access control or encryption shaped the design
- Experience building AI platforms or AI infrastructure, or production services that back AI applications or agents
- Working fluency in Go or Python, plus sharp debugging on production systems
- Hands-on use of cloud infrastructure like AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC or Kafka
- Solid grasp of security fundamentals
- Track record shipping reusable developer tools, APIs and shared libraries for internal teams
- Track record of delivering large engineering projects with lasting impact
