Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer, CDP - Payment Acceptance for a remote-first position to work on the Developer group team. The company focuses on increasing economic freedom and building financial infrastructure. In this role, the engineer will work on the stablecoin payment rail that powers merchant checkouts, subscription systems, and onchain settlements for various businesses. The scope includes managing end-to-end payment experiences, spanning merchant checkout interfaces, gRPC orchestration services, and onchain settlement workers across multiple EVM networks. Team members collaborate remotely while participating in quarterly in-person working sessions known as surges. This position involves developing full-stack functionality using Go for backend services and React alongside Next.js for frontend components. The role suits professionals experienced in building scalable systems who can handle database migrations, API design, and durable workflow implementation. Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end features across Go backend services and the React and Next.js merchant checkout experience
- Develop and improve buyer checkout interfaces including payment links, embeddable web components, and wallet connection flows
- Design fault-tolerant payment workflows utilizing Temporal for onchain settlement, transaction refunds, and reconciliation against PostgreSQL databases
- Implement structured logging, performance metrics, and Datadog traces while participating in the on-call rotation for released services
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into the broader developer platform
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience shipping production systems in Go and TypeScript or React
- Practical experience with relational databases including schema design, migration management, and transactional correctness
- Proven background in designing application programming interfaces and instrumenting production systems with structured observability
- Familiarity with durable workflow systems or working with EVM blockchains and stablecoin payment patterns
- Experience writing clear design documentation, pull request descriptions, and operational runbooks
