In this capacity, the professional will develop modeling software to manage systems like Kubernetes, OpenStack, and Ceph, concentrating specifically on distributed storage.
This position is suited for engineers who enjoy working in a globally distributed environment and understand both the open-source ecosystem and the demands of enterprise organizations. Responsibilities involve writing clean code in Python and Golang, troubleshooting issues, and producing technical documentation. Team members work remotely and gather in-person internationally up to four times per year for strategy alignment.
The ideal candidate possesses strong academic credentials, background in modern Python development, and familiarity with Ceph storage. Candidates must be willing to travel internationally roughly four times annually for approximately one week per trip.
Responsibilities
- Write maintainable software using Python and Golang
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team

Requirements
- Experience writing modern and maintainable Python code
- Experience working with Ceph storage

Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
- Exceptional academic record from high school and university
- Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, or Debian packaging
- Experience operating Ceph clusters in production
- Experience with open source distributed storage systems such as Gluster, Minio, or Mayastor
