Educative seeks a Software Engineer (Experienced) to join its on-site team in Lahore. Educative operates a hyper-growth platform providing interactive, text-based courses on computer science, cloud computing, and advanced technologies to millions of developers globally. In this role, the software engineer will take end-to-end ownership of deliverables, create innovative solutions, and work alongside cross-functional teams to build, test, and launch new features for learners and authors.
This position suits an innovative and passionate developer who wants to influence the final product directly. Responsibilities include writing maintainable code, mentoring other developers, reviewing technical documents, and driving continuous improvements in product quality and scalability. Candidates must hold a relevant degree in computer science and possess strong technical fundamentals.
Responsibilities
- Write maintainable, reusable code using solid principles
- Clarify technical requirements, estimate coding work, and apply design approaches independently
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive direction to team members
- Drive continuous improvement in software quality, maintainability, and customer experience
- Mentor and guide developers while fostering deep technical understanding
- Review technical documents including one-pagers and six-pagers
- Facilitate root cause analysis evaluations and meetings
- Ensure the global platform architecture remains scalable, reliable, secure, and performant
- Monitor market opportunities, emerging technologies, and competitive threats to direct innovation
Requirements
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Good knowledge of multithreading
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Working knowledge of Git
- Ability to work independently with a self-driven, can-do attitude
- Collaborative communication skills for teamwork
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science
- Experience with Google App Engine and Google Cloud
- Experience shipping production-quality products using Python and Node.js
- Experience with React, Redux, React Native, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Working experience with low-level systems and Linux networking stack
- Experience with AWS
