Job Description

Figma is an organization building design and collaboration software intended to make design accessible to everyone through connected workflows. The Mobile Product group develops companion mobile applications for Android and iOS devices, empowering users to collaborate globally in real time.

As a Software Engineer focused on Mobile Web, you will help bridge web technologies and native code to bring core features to smartphones. This position requires partnering with cross-functional disciplines including design, product management, research, and data science. Team members collaborate to establish upcoming tasks, execute feature development, and maintain high application quality.

This is a full-time position that can be performed either from a company United States hub or remotely within the United States. New hires must attend in-person onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and native engineers to implement features on mobile devices
  • Develop, maintain, and refine web user interfaces and backend endpoints used within mobile apps
  • Adapt web-first capabilities into mobile-friendly experiences
  • Take part in user research sessions and testing activities
  • Share responsibilities for releasing, testing, and supporting mobile applications
  • Document and communicate architectural requirements and designs
  • Review peer work and offer constructive feedback
  • Take part in release shepherd responsibilities and on-call rotations for native applications

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience building full-stack web-based mobile experiences
  • At least 2 years of professional experience developing native iOS or Android mobile applications
  • Understanding of mobile and web product development methodologies
  • Proactive communication abilities paired with a collaborative mindset

Qualifications

  • Interest in expanding skills into new technology stacks
  • Experience shaping development practices across an engineering organization
  • Ability to produce initial UI designs in code utilizing established mobile patterns
