As a Software Engineer on the Securities Finance team, you will design, build, and maintain the backend infrastructure driving short borrowing and fully paid securities lending initiatives. This role focuses heavily on revenue generation, operational brokerage workflows, street integrations, and short-sale capabilities following the organization's transition to self-clearing in equities and options. You will own engineering projects from initial scoping through production deployment and ongoing support, handling batch pipelines, partner-facing application programming interfaces, and internal settlement functionality.
This opportunity suits backend practitioners who enjoy tackling distributed systems challenges, learning complex market mechanics, and taking full ownership of production-grade services. Candidates should be comfortable writing production code in Go, managing Kubernetes and PostgreSQL environments, and participating in an on-call rotation designed to address root causes systematically.

- Own complete engineering projects from initial problem discussions through production deployment
- Develop partner-facing application programming interfaces and time-sensitive batch pipelines
- Improve existing operational systems to handle higher transaction volumes smoothly
- Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve root causes of system alerts
Requirements
- Three or more years of professional experience building distributed systems that run in production
- Strong practical productivity using Go, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes
- Ability to design solid RESTful application programming interfaces and evaluate existing API designs
- Solid fundamental knowledge of computers, networks, databases, and distributed system failure modes
Qualifications
- Prior work experience within securities clearing, securities settlement, or securities finance
- Familiarity with gRPC, Protobuf, Kafka, Redpanda, Grafana, Helm, Docker, or Temporal
- Experience with daily batch jobs, file-based integrations, and data reconciliation tasks
- Working knowledge of broker-dealer operations, Reg SHO, or short-sale regulations
Core Skills
Benefits
- Competitive salary and stock options
- Comprehensive health benefits
- One-time home-office setup stipend of 500 US dollars for new hires
- Monthly stipend of 150 US dollars provided through a Brex Card
